Newly disclosed law enforcement records reveal that at least three other women contacted Wisconsin authorities during the summer to report historical physical abuse by Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs following his arrest in May.

The Hobart-Lawrence Police Department released the files late Friday to local television station NBC 26 in Green Bay. The documents outline separate accounts of alleged physical violence dating back to 2021 and 2022 that were reported while detectives investigated the domestic disturbance that resulted in Jacobs’ criminal charges earlier this year.

Details of past allegations emerge

According to the records, one woman reached out to investigators in June after learning about Jacobs’ May arrest. She stated that she had not originally contacted authorities but wanted to corroborate that the running back had a history of violent behavior. The woman told police that during a January 2022 encounter, Jacobs struck her in the face, dragged her by the hair, threw her onto a bed and then onto the floor, pinned her, spat on her, choked her and seized her phone as she attempted to leave his residence. The Associated Press reported that Jacobs allegedly made threats against her life during the altercation after she declined to have sex.

A second woman contacted detectives later that month to report an altercation from April 2021. She claimed Jacobs grabbed both of her arms, slammed her into a wall near a window and tossed her personal belongings outside. The woman stated that she experienced rib swelling and arm bruising from the altercation. While she had notified a different municipal department at the time, records obtained by NBC 26 showed officers did not arrest Jacobs then because they noted no visible physical injuries and determined the pair were not in an established relationship.

In July, police documented an interview regarding a third woman who alleged that Jacobs attacked her in May 2022. Jacobs had flown the woman to his residence following conversations on social media, according to ESPN. The woman reported that Jacobs grabbed her head and neck, dragged her across the area, scratched her chest and confiscated her mobile device. She told detectives that she sustained bruising and visible scratches for roughly a month, but chose not to contact police at the time because Jacobs warned her that interacting with law enforcement could result in her deportation.

Legal resolution and NFL review

The disclosures follow Jacobs’ arrest on May 26 after a May 23 disturbance at his home, where he was accused of throwing a woman to the floor as she tried to exit a garage. On Sept. 10, Jacobs resolved the case by pleading no contest to two misdemeanor counts: battery and criminal damage to property.

The NFL placed Jacobs on the commissioner’s exempt list to open the season, keeping him off the field for Green Bay’s first six games while on paid leave. The league cleared him to return in Week 7, but an NFL investigation remains ongoing, ESPN reported. Jacobs could still face a formal suspension under the league’s personal conduct policy, and officials may evaluate the additional allegations documented in the newly disclosed police reports when deciding whether to impose further discipline.
