We work hard to get every detail right. When we make a mistake, we correct it quickly and tell readers what changed.
How to report an error
Email info@usnow.us with a link to the story, what you believe is wrong and, if you can, a source that shows the correct information. You do not need to be the subject of the story to report an error.
What happens next
- An editor reviews every report, usually within one business day.
- If a fact is wrong, we fix it and add a note at the end of the story explaining what was corrected and when, for example: “Correction: An earlier version of this story misstated the date of the vote. It was Tuesday, not Monday.”
- If a story was accurate but could be misunderstood, we add a clarification.
- Spelling, grammar and formatting fixes that do not change the meaning are made without a note.
- When a developing story is updated with new information, we show an “Updated” time and, where helpful, a note describing the update.
What we do not do
We do not quietly change facts without telling readers, and we do not remove stories because they are unflattering. We remove or anonymize published material only in rare cases, such as legal requirements or a genuine risk to someone’s safety, and an editor documents the decision.
