Kim Kardashian and her mother, Kris Jenner, stepped onto the red carpet at the Rome Film Festival on Saturday to celebrate the season two premiere of the legal drama “All’s Fair.” The duo showcased a pair of coordinated, archival-inspired ensembles that drew heavily on fashion history, Vogue reported.
Kardashian, who turned 46 earlier in the week, plays high-powered divorce attorney Allura Grant in the Ryan Murphy series. For the Rome premiere, she collaborated with celebrity stylist Law Roach to select a vintage leopard-print haute couture gown from Yves Saint Laurent’s fall 1986 collection, according to Vogue. Sourced from the archival boutique Lily et Cie, the dress included a sweetheart corset neckline, crisscrossing front laces and a body-hugging mermaid silhouette, accompanied by a matching leopard shawl that Kardashian draped over her head and shoulders, E! News reported.
Homage to Elizabeth Taylor
Jenner complemented her daughter’s dramatic silhouette with a sweeping black velvet hooded cape that carries significant historical ties to Hollywood royalty. The cape featured ivory silk lining, long white gloves and glittering scorpions stitched across the chest, worn over a floor-length white gown, according to Vogue.
The outerwear pays homage to an iconic Tiziani Roma cape worn by Elizabeth Taylor at Princess Grace of Monaco’s 40th birthday celebration in November 1969. That gathering, known as the Scorpio Ball, honored Princess Grace’s astrological sign. Taylor’s husband at the time, Richard Burton, was also a Scorpio. The original garment, designed during Karl Lagerfeld’s tenure freelancing for Tiziani, sold for $74,500 at a Christie’s auction in 2011, Vogue reported. Jenner, whose birthday falls on Nov. 5, is also a Scorpio.
The cape also serves as a nod to the television series itself. Viewers of the season two trailer for “All’s Fair” previously spotted Kardashian wearing an identical cape while portraying her attorney character, styled with a prominent diamond necklace echoing Taylor’s own jewelry from the 1969 event, Vogue noted.
A weekend of high fashion in Rome
The festival premiere capped a weekend filled with luxury fashion appearances across the Italian capital. On Friday evening, the pair attended an “All’s Fair” cast gathering hosted at Rome’s Bulgari hotel, Yahoo reported.
For that Friday party, both women incorporated crystal accents into distinct ensembles. Kardashian arrived in a custom Erdem Summer 2027 gown featuring a collage bodice, geometric midriff cutouts and flowing strands of beaded crystals stretching to the floor. Jenner attended in a Chanel pre-fall 2026 leopard-patterned skirt and jacket lined with sparkling crystal trim, Yahoo reported.
Earlier on Friday, Kardashian was seen visiting a local Bulgari boutique wearing a white custom Christian Cowan halter-neck gown paired with vintage white leather Christian Louboutin Exagona platform heels from 2012, Footwear News reported. The rare peep-toe shoes, known for dramatic front crisscross straps, boast a 6.3-inch heel counterbalanced by a two-inch platform.
While critics initially gave mixed reviews to the first season of “All’s Fair,” the series has maintained steady audience attention and features an ensemble cast including Sarah Paulson and Glenn Close, Yahoo reported. Hulu has not yet announced the official broadcast date for the upcoming second season.
