Family members of Sean “Diddy” Combs are dismissing reports alleging the imprisoned music mogul suffered a head injury during a physical brawl with a Jamaican drug lord at a federal penitentiary in New Jersey.

The pushback follows claims reported by TMZ that Combs, 56, was injured in a fight with fellow inmate Christopher “Dudus” Coke at Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix. Radio host Loren LoRosa said Thursday on “The Breakfast Club” that she spoke directly with Combs’ relatives, who told her that “there was not a fight at all” and called the rumors untrue, according to Page Six.

Disputing Altercation Claims

LoRosa explained that Combs’ relatives remain uncertain about the exact circumstances surrounding his injury but maintained that “it definitely wasn’t anything crazy.” Page Six previously reported that Combs struck his head against a bunk bed.

LoRosa noted that Combs is kept under guard whenever he leaves his Special Housing Unit and stated that Combs and Coke are housed in entirely separate areas of Fort Dix. She added that Combs’ loved ones are frustrated that details of his medical treatment leaked to the public, telling listeners, “No one should know he was taken to the hospital.”

Federal authorities also flatly contradicted the altercation narrative. A spokesperson for the Federal Bureau of Prisons confirmed Wednesday that a physical confrontation between Combs and Coke “did not happen,” Page Six reported.

Hospitalization and Prison Life

Combs was taken from Fort Dix by ambulance early Saturday, Oct. 10, for outside medical treatment before returning to the complex before sunrise, according to Click2Houston. A source familiar with the matter told People that the injury was not life-threatening.

Juda Engelmayer, a spokesperson for Combs, told media outlets that his team had “no way of independently verifying” claims regarding an inmate dispute and reiterated that their immediate priority was Combs’ well-being.

TMZ had claimed that tensions escalated at the correctional facility after media reports alleged Combs enjoyed special perks and unauthorized items, leading officials to conduct contraband sweeps and seize mobile phones from other inmates. Representatives for Combs have rejected allegations that he received special privileges, stating he has complied with prison regulations.

Current Sentence and Projected Release

Combs is currently serving a 50-month federal prison term following his 2025 conviction on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. Jurors acquitted him of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges.

Federal inmate records indicate his projected release date is March 2, 2028. The date was adjusted backward from an earlier target in January following disciplinary penalties tied to alleged facility infractions, including unauthorized phone usage.

It remains unconfirmed by prison officials precisely what caused Combs’ head trauma on Saturday, and representatives have not released further details regarding his current medical condition inside Fort Dix.
