Vanessa Trump announced Friday that she is cancer-free, marking the end of a six-month medical journey following her breast cancer diagnosis in the spring.

Trump, 48, shared the health update in a video published on Instagram by her eldest daughter, 19-year-old Kai Trump. In the clip, the mother of five revealed that her latest test results were clear after undergoing surgery and subsequent medical care over the summer.

“And it came back clear, so I’m finally cancer-free,” Trump said in the recording before embracing her daughter.

The announcement arrived during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Kai Trump, a freshman at the University of Miami, noted in her caption that the video served as a preview of a longer discussion scheduled for release on YouTube on Saturday.

Advocating for Early Detection

The mother and daughter were joined in the video by Dr. Nicole Saphier, a radiologist, former Fox News medical contributor and President Donald Trump’s nominee for U.S. surgeon general. Together, they addressed the importance of preventative care and early cancer screenings.

“When it comes to breast cancer, it’s not one size fits all. It feels different for everyone,” Saphier said in the video, emphasizing that open conversations on social media help remind the public how prevalent the disease remains.

Breast cancer screening guidelines recently shifted, lowering the recommended age for women to begin mammograms from 50 to 40. According to the American Cancer Society, approximately 16 percent of all breast cancer diagnoses occur in women under 50.

A Summer of Recovery

Vanessa Trump first revealed her illness on May 20, though her daughter noted Friday that the formal diagnosis occurred in April. At the time of her initial announcement, Trump confirmed she had undergone a surgical procedure and was developing a comprehensive treatment program with her medical team.

By June, Trump posted an update stating that she had spent four weeks recovering from surgery and was preparing to begin the second phase of her medical care. The family rallied around her throughout the process, receiving public support from relatives, including former sister-in-law Ivanka Trump.

In an August interview with Fox News Digital, Kai Trump described the emotional weight of her mother’s treatment leading up to her departure for college. She recounted shared tears during quiet moments together while noting that her mother’s condition was steadily improving as the summer progressed.

“It was nice to spend those extra hours with her throughout the day before going to college,” Kai Trump said at the time, calling the additional time together a silver lining.

Family and Future Steps

Trump was married to Donald Trump Jr. from 2005 until their divorce in 2018. The former couple share five children: Kai, 19; Donald III, 17; Tristan, 14; Spencer, 13; and Chloe, 11. In March 2025, Trump publicly confirmed her relationship with professional golfer Tiger Woods.

The full conversation featuring Trump, her daughter and Saphier is set to stream online, where the family plans to detail the specifics of Trump’s diagnosis and therapy in hopes of encouraging other women to seek timely medical evaluations.
