Gypsy Rose Blanchard has shared details of her final encounter with her former partner Ken Urker, recounting an unexpected fast-food delivery days before he was found dead in his Louisiana home.
Urker died on Oct. 1, his 34th birthday, at his residence in Raceland, Louisiana. The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office reported finding him unresponsive after deputies were dispatched around 6:15 p.m. following a welfare check request. An official cause of death has not been established as investigators await toxicology and autopsy results, though authorities stated there were no indications of foul play.
A lighthearted final memory
In an interview published Saturday by Page Six, Blanchard, 35, said she unknowingly saw Urker in person for the last time when dropping off food at his doorstep on Sept. 22. She brought a meal from Burger King, acting as an impromptu delivery driver.
“During one of our exchanges, I decided to surprise him with Burger King,” Blanchard told Page Six. “I pretended to be a DoorDash driver and left his food outside his door.”
Blanchard revealed a text conversation from that afternoon showing Urker thanking her for the gesture, including a slice of pie. She joked back that he should give her a five-star rating. Reflecting on the exchange, Blanchard told Page Six: “It was such a simple, silly little moment, but one that now means more to me than I could ever put into words. I didn’t know that would be the last time I would ever see him in person.”
Ongoing investigation and personal strain
Deputies and investigators discovered drug paraphernalia, syringes and a firearm inside the home where Urker died, according to reporting by Page Six and E! News. Blanchard previously told People that she suspected Urker died from a drug overdose, though she noted she did not know whether it was intentional, adding that he had struggled emotionally in recent months.
Urker’s sister, Autumn Urker, confirmed to reporters that the pair had split before his death and described Ken as having grown overwhelmed by public scrutiny and relentless online hostility, according to The Mirror US and OK! Magazine. Autumn Urker told the Daily Mail that her brother kept a firearm nearby because of severe threats received over the internet rather than out of fear of Blanchard.
The pair originally met through correspondence in 2017 while Blanchard was incarcerated in Missouri for her role in the 2015 killing of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard. They became engaged in 2018 before calling off the wedding in 2019. Following Blanchard’s release from prison in late 2023 and her subsequent divorce from Ryan Anderson, she and Urker reconnected. Blanchard gave birth to their daughter, Aurora Raina Urker, in December 2024.
What happens next
Blanchard attended a private viewing for Urker with their daughter and has discussed organizing a Louisiana memorial service alongside a scheduled funeral in Texas, Page Six reported. Lafourche Parish authorities continue to treat the matter as an open death investigation pending complete toxicology findings.
