NEW YORK — Digital creator and comedian Druski made his hosting debut on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” on Saturday, marking the first time the long-running sketch comedy series selected a master of ceremonies whose fame originated primarily from internet comedy.

During his opening monologue on Nov. 7, the 32-year-old performer addressed his unusual path to Studio 8H, highlighting jokes about his viral fame and public perceptions, Variety reported. “It is an honor to be on the same stage as so many legends before me,” Druski told the audience, according to Variety. “And I am living proof that you can bet on yourself and make your dreams come true.”

Surprise Monologue Appearance

Druski was joined on stage by two-time Academy Award winner Emma Stone, a member of the show’s “Five-Timers Club.” The two recently completed filming Universal Pictures’ forthcoming baseball romantic comedy “The Catch,” directed by Stone’s husband, former “Saturday Night Live” writer and director Dave McCary.

Druski joked to the audience that he played Stone’s romantic interest in the project. “I think you might have misread that in those scenes, because we weren’t love interests in the film,” Stone answered, according to Deadline. “But now it is starting to make more sense why you kept looking at me like that for all those scenes.”

Druski also joked about guidelines producers supposedly gave him for his hosting gig, telling viewers that show executives told him there would be “no cussing” and “no whiteface,” before quipping that he could make no promises, Deadline reported.

Milestone for Digital Performers

The episode, the third of the show’s 52nd season, represented a significant shift for “Saturday Night Live,” Variety noted. While past hosts such as Issa Rae built internet followings before achieving mainstream television success, Druski became the first host tapped strictly from digital content without an existing television or film lead role on the air.

However, Druski has steadily expanded into traditional entertainment this year. Earlier in 2026, he served as the youngest master of ceremonies in the history of the BET Awards, the New York Post reported. In June, he joined the cast of “The Catch,” which also stars Chris Pine and current “Saturday Night Live” cast member Ashley Padilla, according to Deadline.

Rock band The Strokes served as the evening’s musical guest, led by Julian Casablancas. The performance marked the group’s fifth musical appearance on the variety program, according to Billboard.

Druski’s upcoming projects include his series “Collect and Praise,” which is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on Dec. 1, while release plans for “The Catch” have not yet been announced.
