Country music singer Billy Ray Cyrus and English actress Elizabeth Hurley are engaged after more than a year of dating, according to a report published Friday by Page Six.
Sources confirmed the upcoming nuptials to the outlet following days of online speculation fueled by social media photographs. Hurley, 61, was recently seen wearing a large diamond ring on her left hand while preparing to film scenes for the second season of the Peacock series “The ‘Burbs.” An insider told Page Six that the piece of jewelry was genuine and not merely a costume item for the production.
Cyrus, 65, further stoked rumors on Thursday by sharing an Instagram post promoting his latest collaboration with the group Deltona. Alongside a photograph of himself, the musician ended his caption by noting, “Kinda has a ring to it,” accompanied by a ring emoji. Damian Hurley, the actress’s son, responded to the musician’s post with a celebratory emoji.
A connection sparked on set
The couple first crossed paths in 2022 during the production of the holiday movie “Christmas in Paradise.” While they shared minimal screen time during filming, Cyrus later noted in an interview that the two felt an instant comic rapport. Hurley subsequently reached out to offer support following his public divorce from his previous wife, Australian singer Firerose.
By Easter Sunday in April 2025, Cyrus and Hurley went public with their relationship. Since then, both have openly discussed their mutual affinity for rural living. Hurley manages a farm in the English countryside, while Cyrus resides on a farm in Tennessee.
Speaking on the “SheerLuxe” podcast earlier this month, Hurley reflected on their dynamic, acknowledging that while outsiders might find them unexpected as a couple, they share extensive common ground in their day-to-day lifestyles. Cyrus previously echoed that sentiment to People magazine, explaining that both have weathered decades inside the entertainment industry.
Past relationships and family
A walk down the aisle would mark the fourth marriage for Cyrus and the second for Hurley. Cyrus was previously married to Cindy Smith from 1986 to 1991, followed by a nearly three-decade union with Tish Cyrus that ended in 2023. Later that same year, he wed Firerose, but the pair split in 2024 amid accusations of abuse from her, which Cyrus denied. Cyrus is a father of six, including pop singer Miley Cyrus.
Hurley’s previous marriage was to Indian businessman Arun Nayar, spanning from 2007 until their divorce in 2011. Before that, she was in a 13-year relationship with actor Hugh Grant until 2000, and later had her son, Damian, with the late film producer Steve Bing. She was also previously engaged to the late Australian cricket player Shane Warne until 2013.
Representatives for Cyrus and Hurley did not immediately comment on the engagement reports. The couple has not yet shared when or where they intend to hold their wedding ceremony.
